CHILDREN & TEEN THERAPY
CHILDREN
I create and employ a comfortable play therapy setting for school-aged children in which we explore and address particular issues for which parents may have concern. Using play therapy can help gain insight into a child’s thoughts and feelings. Children often struggle to express their feelings and emotions verbally; therefore, play therapy allows children to express themselves in a safe way while facilitating social, emotional, and behavioral change. I work to provide a safe, trusting environment to allow children to use play therapy as a medium to express themselves.
Parental involvement in the child’s therapy process varies, depending on the child and family’s needs. The therapeutic goals and progress in treatment will be discussed with you on a regular basis. Parents are also invited to support treatment by sharing what they observe at home, school, or in social settings. Periodically, parents will be invited to discuss ways to support your child’s therapeutic process at home.
